In face of the monetary crisis that has swept across the globe since last year, WTD (Wuhan Telecommunication Device Co., Ltd.) has effectively withstood the impact of the monetary seaquake and assumed a strong posture of development on the basis of its superiorities in self-owned intellectual property rights. Compared with last year, its economic indexes, such as operating revenue, profit and tax and foreign exchange earnings through exports, have kept increasing and its sales volume of photoelectronic devices ranks first in the industry.
As the first company in China that has been engaged in the research, development, production and marketing of long-wavelength semiconductor photoelectronic devices for fiber-optic communications, WTD manufactures products that are mainly used in the fields of telecommunication, energy, railway, aerospace, military, science, technology and education. It has an annual production capacity of 10 million pairs of various photoelectronic devices and 5.4 million pieces of optical modules of different kinds, becoming the largest photoelectronic device manufacturer in China. It is capable of providing operators in the information field complete solutions of full sets of photoelectronic devices from chips, devices to modules. Breaking the control and blockade of the photoelectronic technologies by the western countries, WTD has exported its products to North America, Europe, India, RoK, Brazil, Japan and other countries and regions.
Up to the latter half of 2009, WTD has filed 81 patent applications, 26 of which are for invention patents, 32% of the total, 52 for utility model patents, 3 for foreign patents. It has been granted 56 patents, 11 of which are for invention. Besides, it has drafted and formulated over 40 national and industrial standards for photoelectronic devices, 26 of which have been published and enforced. In addition, it has drawn up two international standards.
In response to Premier Wen’s instruction that “holding self-owned IPR and master core technologies, we’ll have strong adaptability and anti-risk ability”, WTD has persistently carry out technological innovation and IPR protection, independently developed various kinds of photoelectronic devices required for the development of optical communications, which have filled up the blanks in China, reached the world advanced level and guided the trend of development of photoelectronic devices. Since the breakout of the monetary crisis last year, its annual operating revenues have risen in large margins and its production and sales volume in the first half of the year increased by over 100%. |
